SecondBite collects and redistributes food to our recipients completely free of charge. We couldn’t do this if it weren’t for the generous contributions from our supporters. To our food donors, our financial supporters and pro and low-bono service providers, and our dedicated and tireless volunteers, we say a huge and heartfelt ‘THANK YOU’.

Since 2011, Coles has partnered with SecondBite to donate unsold, edible food to 1,300 community groups supporting disadvantaged Australians.

This national program involves over  770 Coles supermarkets and some distribution centres. Between 2011 and 31 December 2018, Coles partnership with SecondBite has provided the equivalent of more than 74 million healthy meals to people in need.

In addition to food donations, Coles supermarkets and Coles Liquor raise funds for SecondBite through the sale of $2 donation cards and reusable shopping bags. In FY18, $2.2 million was raised by Coles’ customers and team members through the sale of these products.

Since SecondBite’s beginnings in 2005, you have enabled us to rescue over 48 million kg of surplus fresh food, providing more than 96 million nutritious meals for people experiencing disadvantage around Australia.

As our partnerships continue to grow, they enable SecondBite to evolve as an organisation. We pride ourselves on delivering an outstanding return on investment to our contributors. In 2018, we are able to provide 5 healthy meals per $1; with the view to increase this to 8 meals per $1 by 2019.
