In a report by the Australian Institute in 2005 it was estimated that Australia’s total food wastage was worth $5.3 billion a year.   A study by the Australian Food & Grocery Council revealed that the amount of water needed to produce this annual food wastage would be enough to supply all of Melbourne and Sydney for a year

Yet thousands of men, women and children in Australia went hungry in 2006/2007!

We urgently need to raise core funds so that we can expand our operations and begin to bridge this gap.

SecondBite is endorsed by the Australian Taxation Office as an income tax exempt charity (ITEC) with deductible Gift Recipient (DGR) status.  This allows donors to claim a full tax deduction on all donations over $2.00
